Original era manufacture. Rigid, black wool covered body, shako with a leather top and front and rear visors.Silver colored, crossed Vetterli rifles, with a numeral 4 below, above is a green and white cockade, beneath a kelly green pompom. The leather lining is intact, with a pliable leather chinstrap pushed up into the crown of the shako. The wool body displays considerable crazing from Mr. Moth but no large holes, the shako is not crushed or broken. About a size 7.
