Item #64112 : Original era manufacture. German Army issue enlisted sword, as worn by mounted units prior to WWII. Polished steel blade measuring 31.5 inches in length, running failry straight and true with a light drift to the right about 2 inches back from the point. Numerous waffenamt type proofs appear on the guard and blade, with the serial number 8078 visible on the bottom of the guard.. In addition, the letters CE/G can be seen on the bottom of the guard. C.E., Carl Eickhorn, with the letter G in the Luger world denoting 1935 as a year of manufacture. Black plastic wrapped grip bound with double strand wire. Leather finger loop inside the guard is present but torn on one side. The black painted steel scabbard retains most of it's original finish, with no denting to the surface. The blade fits the scabbard properly but does not have a waffenamt proof on the drag.
