Item #69892 : Original period manufacture. German made, brass mounted short sword measuring 27.5 inches in length. Single edge, polished steel blade marked on the reverse ricasso Solingen, and on the obverse a makers name which is obscured by the guard. Unit marked on the guard and scabbard throat, similar, but they do not match. The steel blade is basically clean, with a few spots of corrosion, but no evidence of major pitting.
