Item #61199 : Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 35 inches in length, bright and clean, running fairly straight and true, showing a slight drift to the left about six inches back from the point. The blade surface is bright and clean, no nicks in the cutting edge, the point is slightly blunted. Dated 1865 A.G.M. on the obverse ricasso, and on the reverse, ROBY, Chelmsford Mass. Original leather wrapping with single strand twisted brass wire binding.  The three branch guard has a pleasing mellow patina finish. Nearly dent-free steel, two ring scabbard with a dark patina finish, never cleaned. Nice honest sword.
