Item #69885 : Original period manufacture. Standard pattern of the era introduced in 1902, still the regulation officers sword for the US Army today. The etched steel blade measures 30 inches in length, runs straight and true, displaying the retailers name of M.C.Lilly & Co. on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean, no nicks in the cutting edge, only an area on the obverse side, near the point, where a previous owner attempted a polish, only to remove the plating. Leather bumper at the base of the blade, plated alloy three branch guard with a black composition grip. The steel scabbard has a chrome finish, with a few scattered service related dents along its length. Attached to the sword at the time of our purchase, is a nice quality braided leather replica sword knot, and two sections of a replica sword hanger on the suspension rings.
