Original era publication. HB, 408 pages, Harper Brothers Publishing, New York, 1872. Written by Brevet Major-General William B. Hazen, U.S.Army. The book is sound for its 146 years, no loose pages, minor staining, wear to the top and bottom of the spine.General Hazon was an observer during the Franco-Prussian War 1870-71, producing a diary during the Siege of Paris. I believe he may have been the inventor of the "Hazen Loops", leather 45-70 bullet loops, produced in sections which would slip over the standard leather service belt of the time.
