Item #69460 : Original period manufacture. One of the most popular souvenirs for the American forces who saw service in the Philippines from 1900 to 1946, are these wall displays of Moro weaponry . By the style and quality of its construction of this example I would say that this is of certainly pre WWII manufacture, with a good chance of it dating to 1910 or so. The shield shaped board measures 12 x 15 inches and is covered in a faded red velvet material, the edge of the board is covered in a thin metal binding. Securely attached to the front of the shield are 28 examples of assorted classic Moro swords, knives, arrows and two wooden shields, many with the name of their type on the blade, all of metal construction. Great looking weapons array.
