Item #69703 : Original period manufacture. Scarlet wool mess dress jacket with white wool shoulder straps and cuffs, rank pips for a 1st Lieutenant with a T below. Lincolnshire regimental badges on the lapels. Quilted red silk body lining, with red silk lined sleeves. The jacket is fairly clean, with a moth bite on the reverse, a pair under the right arm and some tracking on the back. Dark blue wool trousers with a 1.25 inch red wool stripe down the outer seam of each leg. White silk inner waistband with a tailors tag in the back Conway Williams London. Below is the name Capt. S.R. Cooke 10th, and date 13/1/37. This name tag may relate to a Cooke who served with the Chindits during WWII. All of the suspender and fly buttons have been removed.
