Item #68385 : Original period manufacture. Late war production coat, in near new condition. Hand sewn Luftwaffe enlisted quality coat eagle, slip-on Flieger piped shoulder straps, with the piping being imitation silk. Oversized flieger collar tabs, hand sewn, so are likely replacements. Abbreviated lining in gray imitation silk material, size markings on the left side. Luftwaffe blue ceramic closure buttons on the front, missing two. As it is a hidden button front you don't really notice it when displayed. No real moth issues to report, in fact the coat is very clean overall. Size about a 40 long. There is a fun story regarding the purchase of this coat from a local thrift store. Our seller was out shopping the local shops one day back in the 90's and came upon this coat priced at $100. The shop was advertising a 50 percent off sale the next weekend, and our buyer had the fortitude to leave the coat on the rack, showing up the next weekend at the opening bell to make his purchase. I don't know if I could have waited had it been me.
