Item #62782 : Original era manufacture. While digging through our uniform rack, we found this United Costume labeled dark blue wool coatee. Our guess is that this was created by the costumer back in the day, and typical for the era, is a fine quality garment. It has a quilted white silk lining, what appear to be original French epaulettes and bursting bomb decorated, gilded brass French officer buttons. Pinned to the front of the coat is a wire embroidered example of the French National Order of Merit. In the lining of the coat is and original tag is named to an actor named Nick Vehr, born in Moscow Russia in 1894, he died in 1965. Several movies to his credit. Size about a 38 short. He was born 1894 in Moscow and was in the following films:The Astounding She Monster 1957, Johnny Holiday 1949 and Monkey on My Back 1957. He died in 1965, Los Angeles, CA at age 71.Nicholas Vehr(1894-1965)Make-Up DepartmentActorAdditional CrewIMDbProSTARMETERSee rankNicholas Vehr was born on 19 January 1894 in Moscow, Russia.
