Item #59079 : Original period manufacture. Fine quality double breasted coat, which may have been worn by a Landwehr officer. The body appears to be a very dark blue, with red wool collar, cuffs and piping. Double row of eight gilded brass buttons on the chest, six on the decorative tail, and a single smaller button on the rear of each cuff. White silk body lining, with a red silk lining to the tails. Old costume house stamps inside. Gold brocade tape loops on each shoulder, with three silver embroidered stars on each side of the collar for the rank of Hauptmann (Captain). Most of the buttons have a Wien (Vienna) back mark, a few have been replaced. No moth issues, size about a 36.
