Item #62971 : Original era manufacture. This is a collector assembled set as the name in the coat does not match the name in the trousers. However, both are trimmed in buff wool, the correct branch of service color for a Quartermaster Department officer, that Department later changed to QM Corps in 1912. Dark blue wool double breasted frock coat with rimmed eagle buttons throughout. Sleeve rank indicates a Major, correct gold wire knots on each shoulder.  The tailor's label inside the coat is from Jacob Reed's Sons of Philadelphia, a firm which closed it's doors in 1983. It is named to a Captain S.F. Dutton. The tag displays the numbers 9940 over 1987. Size is about a 38 short. Black silk lined body, with white silk lined sleeves, the bottom edge of each sleeve opening displays wear and fraying. Scattered mothing on the exterior, left cuff and upper sleeve, small bites on the bottom of the collar, the lower right edge of the coat. The trousers are of a lighter blue color, trimmed with a 1.5 inch stripe of wool down each outer seam. Two front pockets, no hip pockets. There is a Joseph A. Wilner & Co. Washington D.C. tag on the inside of the watch pocket, named to Major U.E.Durst and dated 1938. No real moth issues, only a few small pencil-point bites, zipper fly. Waistband measures 33 inches, inseam 28 inches.
