Original era manufacture. 26 inch polished steel blade with an unsharpened edge and sharp point. The blade shows scattered areas of oil spotting but no corrosion damage. One piece, cast brass hilt and guard with a lacquered finish. No markings to be seen anywhere on this weapon, not a tourist or recent manufactured item. It shows genuine age throughout with normal age patina visible. The black leather, brass mounted scabbard is quite sound with tight stitching and only light scuffing to its surface. Short swords of this style were used by many European nations during the 19th Century. This one could be anyone's.
