Original period letter. Dated January 17 1884, Fort Sumner and addressed to Mssrs Browne & Manzanaras of Las Vegas NMT. It is a request for a variety of liquor, "By sending the above bill without the money, you will confer a favor, I will have the money ready by the time goods arrive here" Anderson & Co. Page measures 5x7 inches written in ink with penciled notations. Fort Sumner New Mexico Territory was established in 1862 and abandoned by the army in 1869. In 1881 Sherrif Pat Garrett shot andkilled Billy the Kid here.
