Original era manufacture. Ornate, European inspired fur busby as worn by members of the elite New York Hussars, A Troop in the years prior to the Spanish American War.Fur covered body with a cavalry yellow kolpak, wire embroidered A Troop insignia and a brass chain linked chinstrap. Black leather German-style liner with a black cloth covered interior. Attached to the front of the busby is a removable parade bush, which fits into a slot in the lid of the storage can.Black japanned finish to the original steel storage can, with a framed image of an original member of the New York Hussars holding a similar busby in the crook of his arm. I believe the photo is a current copy.The busby is quite presentable and very striking in appearance. Normal age and wear overall.
