Original period manufacture. Dark blue wool top, golden yellow ribbed silk cap band edged with gold brocade trim. Gold wire eagle directly embroidered into both the top and cap band. Gold brocade chinstrap secured with two rimless eagle side buttons. Black patent leather visor embroidered with gold wire oak leaves. Brown leather sweatband, loose in the back portion, black silk lining with silver lettered makers name. The hat displays typical age and wear, minor mothing at the back and lower edge, some loose threads on the oak leaf embroidery. The hat displays quite well, not crushed or damaged.
