Original era manufacture. This set is one of the items ina large collection of aviation headgear and goggles recently purchased by SMA. Chamois lined, dark brown goatskin flying helmetwith a two buckle chinstrap connecting system. Set into each side of the helmet are the curved pipe connectors for the Gosport communication system, which in turn connects eachvia a conduit-like tube to a Y-shaped pipe. A canvas mask with the speaking tube portion of the Gosport system is included along with a pair of Wilson MkI PILOT model goggles with dark green glass lenses. Written on the inside strap of the goggles is a name, J.T.BOYD. The set is quite sound overall, with a top portion of the red rubber connecting tube on the Y-shaped pipe broken away, inside the gogglesis some handstitching where a small reinforcement effort was made. This will be shipped complete with the display head asshown.
