Original era manufacture. Ok this is a big one, all medal construction and measures almost 16 inches in length and nearly 7 inches in height at the wheel. This is a breech-loading cannon designed to fire some type of projectile, the breech slides to the side to enable it to be loaded, with a large pistol-like hammer with firing pin. It has a folding trail with an 1877 patent date cast into it's surface. There is a piece missing from the top of the trail which may have been a lock or stop, but no other damage or missing parts are noted. Post production paint-job, but has a nice patina itself. A great looking cannon with a business-like appearance.
