Original period manufacture. A very clean example showing a 30 inch polished steel blade with etched panels on each side of the blade. The American eagle with E Pluribis Unum motto is on the obverse and US in gothic script on the reverse. Weyersberg logo on the obverse ricasso and MC Lilley & Co. name on the reverse. The blade is clean, running straight and true with some light scattered age darkening on each side. Gilded brass guard and pommel, with a leather wrapped grip bound with a single strand of brass wire. Dent free chromed steel scabbard with gilded brass fittings, with mounting stud for a frog suspension instead of the more usually seen carrying ring. Very clean old sword.
