Original period manufacture. Enameled brass insignia with a pinback reverse, maker marked Dondero Washington D.C. The famed 7th Cavalry Regiment needs no introduction here, formed in 1866 it served during the Indian Wars, most notably at the Little Bighorn in 1876 where it was nearly destroyed. During WWII the regiment served in the Pacific, Admiralty Islands, Leyte and Luzon.
