Original era manufacture. Standard pattern 1874 enlisted belt and buckle, Rock Island marked leather, with Saddler applied loops for 14 rounds of pistol ammunition, looks to be .45 caliber. Pliable thin leather strip, hand stitched to the belt body, which allows the cartridges to be secured in place. A scarce example of a field modified belt, likely for frontier service.
