Original era manufacture. Khaki cotton, four pocket coat with a roll collar and gussets to the pocket bodies. Darkened bronze rimless buttons throughout, with a machine sewn chevron of an Infantry 1st Sergeant chevron on each sleeve. All of the buttons are removable, being secured with split rings. Intact, and fairly clear, original issue tag sewn to the interior body of the lower right pocket. Badger Mfg. Co.1908, size marked 6 (about a 38 regular). Overall the coat exhibits minimal wear, with light scattered staining to the fabric, with strong color overall. On each collar point, evidence of a collar disc can be seen. This is a scarce original example of the transitional era of the US Army enlisted uniform, as we reluctantly relinquished the vestiges of the traditional Blue.
