Original era manufacture. A nice little grouping of artifacts and documents pertaining to one George Miller, late of Captain Hite's Company M, 12th Pennsylvania Cavalry. The lot includes his 1865 discharge, 1908-1909 GAR Department of Pennsylvania Roster, a unused burial application for a Soldier, Sailor or Marine, a Jenny Wade souvenir badge, Battle of Gettysburg 50th Anniversary souvenir badge, a red-white-blue cockade with a color lithographed center for the Gettysburg reunion in 1913, an early pattern GAR membership badge with numbered edge (ribbon in poor condition) and an assortment of other small GAR emblems. All are housed in this neat old wooden cigar box with a locking lid, complete with vintage little kid doodles on the inside of the lid. The Jenny Wade badge is quite nice and an interesting little relic in it's own right.George Miller joined the 12th Pennsylvania Cavalry in March of 1864, and served until he was mustered out of the service in July of 1865. Excellent research potential.
