Original era photography and manufacture. US Civil War era 1/4 plate tintype image of two Union soldiers, an officer and an nco. Both men are shown seated with clear uniform details as shown. The case is of a pattern identified as depicting Sir Roger deCoverly and the Gypsies. Casemaker A. P. Critchlow and Company. The case is in sound condition for it's age, no major cracks, just a small chip in one of the outside corners.
