Original era manufacture. Bright steel construction with a U.S. stamped on the base of the blade. Designed for the .58 caliber rifle. Spotting and staining to the metal surfaces no real corrosion issues. The locking ring pivots easily and the set screw can be tightened and loosened. A light bath wouldn't hurt any.
