This interesting document, releases one Hugh McClellan of New York of the liability of serving in the army for one year, as he has provided a substitute, one John Laury, to serve in his stead. Signed and dated at Tarrytown New York, August 1864Purchased as part of the collection of a 94 year old local WWII veteran, who collected Civil War memorabilia for most of his life.
