Original period manufacture. Forage cap size insignia, with gilded brass, false embroidered metal 2 and crossed cannon, placed upon a black velvet covered oval, which is trimmed in brass wire. Simple paper covered backing, wear to the velvet as shown. Scarce original insignia. Measures 2.5 x 1.75 inches.
