Original era manufacture. Steel patina finish to the bayonet, with a US proof at the base of the blade, scattered cleaned surface corrosion. I tried this on my 1863 Springfield and it fits just fine.Original black bridle leather scabbard of riveted and sewn construction, with a brass tip. The scabbard shows age and wear for its 150 plus years, yet the stitching is sound and the leather is not flaking. There is a weak spot in the scabbard body just below the frog, but with the bayonet inserted, all is well.
