Original era manufacture. Nice little lot of 15 period documents pertaining to the service of one James Hendrix, late of Company D, 6th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry. Hendrix enlisted with the regiment in September of 1864 and was mustered out in November of 1865. During his time of service, his regiment engaged the forces of General Forest and Hood and participated in the battles of Franklin and Nashville. The lot includes his army discharge, pension applications and several handwritten affidavits by comrades and neighbors attesting to his disabilities due to his army service.
