Original period photography. An image copied from a tintype and then mounted to  a card mount. A common enough practice during the late 19th century. The soldier is shown full length, while holding his musket with bayonet, and wearing the issue frock coat with dress hat. Two features the soldiers of the famed Iron Brigade were noted for.
