US Civil War Artillery Enlisted Shell Jacket & Shoulder Scales
Item #67465 : Original period manufacture. A very sound example of a Civil War era Federal enlisted Light Artillery Shell Jacket, Cincinnati Ohio inspector marked, size 3. Complete with a pair of original Civil War era brass shoulder scales. All buttons are present, no real moth issues to report and complete with it's full, original, sleeve and body lining. Modern size about a 40 regular. No explanation for the brass numbers on the collar, they were on the coat at the time of our purchase. Minor seam separation where the sleeve openings meet the body lining, other than that minor issue a very fine example of it's type. The brass shoulder scales are originals from the Civil War era, and are complete with their proper brass attaching loops and lock tabs. The black painted liners are also present but the glue securing them has dried out over the past 165 years so they are loose. The scales are likely not original to the coat, but are regulation and they look great on the shoulders.
