Original period photography. Sepia image of Corporal John G. Palmer, company F, 21st Connecticut Infantry, who as a boy of 17, was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism during the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 13th 1862. Autographed by Corporal Palmer, who volunteered to help man a cannon during a Confederate attack. Born in 1845, he died in 1901. Comes with a professional mount, and a copy of Palmer's account of the action published in the Civil War Research database. J.Weekes Norwich Ct photographic backmark.
