Inscription in the front cover to what looks to be Charles Coit, and dated 1861.The book concerns itself with practical campaign duties for volunteers; school of the soldier, rations and mode of cooking them, field fortifications and so on.The book is sound, no loose pages but shows wear at the top of the spine.
