Original period manufacture. Hardbound book published 168 years ago with a forward by then Secretary of War Jefferson Davis, who in a few years would become the President of the Confederate States of America. All details of the conduct of the Army are presented in 457 pages, with a 21 page Appendix in the back listing the Articles of War. No loose pages, Covers have some wear in the way of scuffing and staining, with minor chipping at the base of the spine. Otherwise the book remains quite sound and readable.
