Original era manufacture. An 1860 pattern sword made by the German firm of Weyersberg and imported into the United States during the Civil War byHorstmann & Sons of Philadelphia. Polished steel blade measuring 32 inches in length with scattared areas of spotting and staining from age. The blade is fairly straight, with no pitting issues or sharpening. Three branch brass guard with laurel leaf embellisments on the pommel and guard. Leather wrapped grip boundwith single strand twisted brass wire. Noscabbard. This sword was one of many souvenirs purchased from the family of WWII by Corporal R.D.Easler, 3468th Ordnance Company, US Army.
