Original era photograph. A very clear image of a man who served for over 53 years in the US Army, fourteen Presidential administrations, from Thomas Jefferson to Abraham Lincoln.  He is shown holding the hilt of a magnificent presentation sword, likely for his victory in Mexico in 1849.
