Original era photography. Unusual CDV sized tintype image of a Union soldier. He is shownwearing the issue 9 button frock coat with a forage cap on his head and the enlisted eagle beltplate at his waist. Seen tucked into his belt is the butt of a pistol. The image is a bit dark but we have not made any attempt to clean the glass. Typical paper covered wooden case with thecloth hinge being torn. Brass catch intact.
