Original period manufacture. A great looking old pair of brass and steel bridle rosettes, which if memory serves, where used up to 1874 or so, when the bulls eye patternrosettes were adopted.These have brass fronts, and backed with steel, with steel mounting loops.These were part of an old-time Civil War collection we purchased last summer, and still haveRoy's identification numbers on the reverse.'We have placedasingle, of a modern made replica rosette next to one of these for comparison sake. They're pretty close, but no cigar. Dark brass patina to the obverse, with corrosion finish to the backing plates and mounting loops.
