Original era manufacture. A heavy pattern cavalry sword with a flat backed spine, and blade measuring slightly over 34 inches in length. The blade has a pleasing old gray steel patina with just a touch of corrosion pitting near the tip. The cutting edge has a few very shallow nicks in its surface, more felt than seen. Clauberg name on the reverse ricassoBrass three branch guard and pommel cap in good order, the leather grip wrapping is in poor condition but all of the original twisted wire binding is present.The heavy steel scabbard has a gray patina finish with a few spots of light surface corrosion and is free of denting.
