Original period manufacture. Civil War era Manhattan, 36 caliber, 5 shot revolver with a 4 inch barrel. Serial number 39817 which can be seen on the butt, trigger guard, frame and barrel, I did not pull the wedge to check there, if they ever marked them there, don't know. Original finish on the wood grips, traces of silvering on the trigger guard, all of the nipples are in good shape, none are broken. The pistol indexes as it should, the cylinder lines up properly and the internal spring feels quite strong. The hammer holds on half cock, the screw heads for the most part are in decent shape. I did not pull the wedge to check the bore, the wedge itself is very clean and may be a replacement. The overall finish on the pistol is very worn, none of the original blue remains, with scattered areas of darkening and light pitting to the surface. The barrel inscription remains readable. This old pistol works as it ought to but is plug-ugly on the exterior, but it can't help that. **Please know your local and state laws regarding the purchase of antique firearms.
