Original period photography. Clear tintype sixth plateimage housed in an original case with a cloth hinge. The image is of a young man in the position of "Rest", he holds before him a very clear view of the US Model 1861 Springfield Rifle. He wears dark trousers with a light colored stripe on the outside seam, a light colored shirt with folding collar, whitegloves and a black tie. On his head he wears a hat which looks similar to the 1895 forage cap with an emblem of sorts on its front. Sons of Veterans?, clear image.
