Original era manufacture. Tarred linen body, with leather straps and brass fittings with steel connecting buckles. It represents the standard issue Federal Infantry knapsack of the Civil War. The knapsack displays several tears in the fabric, however the leather straps are full length, and at present unbroken. Several of the small steel connecting buckles are missing, yet the pack will still make a sound display piece.At present it is stuffed with 1998 dated newspaper, a fun old Civil War relic.
