Original era photography and frame. A very clear image of a Federal Cavalryman in the position of "rest". In this hands he holds an officers model 1850 Foot pattern sword and sword belt, perhaps a photographers prop used for the occasion. His crossed sabre insignia is clearly visible on the crown of his forage cap, along with the number 5 and company letter, A. The mat measures 7.5 x 9.5 inches, and the original period frame 14.5 x 16.5 inches. Wooden back cover with edges of the matting peeking out around the edges leading us to believe this has been rematted at some recent time. Classic Civil War framed image.
