Original era manufacture. Standard pattern "wristbreaker" made by the German firm of Weyersburg and imported into the US during our Civil War. The polished steel blade measures 36 inches in length, runs straight and true with no issues. Overall a very nice blade. Original leather bumper at the base of the blade with the Weyersburg King's Head on the obverse ricasso, interestingly the importer's name on the obverse has been struck out for some reason. Mellow brass patina finish to the guard, original leather wrapped grip, with copper wire binding. The wire binding has moved around on the grip likely due to shrinkage of the wood and leather over the years. Heavy steel scabbard with two suspension rings, even dark steel patina finish with evidence of old cleaned corrosion along it's length.
