Original era manufacture. Standard pattern M1840 NCO sword. Steel patina finish to the blade, with evidence of old cleaned surface corrosion. Ames name on one side of the ricasso, US T.K.E. 1864 on the opposite side. The blade measures 32.25 inches in length, running fairly straight with a very slight bend to the right about 6 inches back from the point. Nice old dark brass patina finish to the guard and grip. The sword is tight, no rattles or movement.
