Original era manufacture. For being over 150 years old this M1840 NCO sword is incredible. Manufactured by Roby in 1862 it displays the inspectors initials F.S.S. on its ricasso. Mirror finished blade with no nicks or corrosion, likely as nice as the day it left the factory. Gilded brass guard and grip with a really interesting patina pattern on top of the guard, matt green, doesn't show anywhere else but there. Beautiful black leather bodied scabbard which also shows the F.S.S. inspectors initials on the drag. No damage to report, it really appears to have almost been made yesterday. Wow, what a sword.
