Original era manufacture. A sound example of the classic Civil War era cartridge box as carried by Federal Infantry throughout the war. The box is complete with both tins and the lead-filled, brass US oval on the cover, with the strap securing buckles on the bottom of the pouch. The flap securing strap is present but torn through, there is a small section of leather missing from the left side bottom corner, and one of the divider plates is missing from one of the tins. When opening the flap a section of stitching opens up a bit. It presents very well for it's 165 year age, remaining quite sound for display. Never oiled.
