Original era manufacture. A very sound example of the classic Civil War era cartridge box as carried by Federal Infantry during the war.The box is complete with both tins and the lead-filled, brass US oval on the cover. Theleather has stiffened slightly with age, bur remains quite sound, with all straps and buckles in place. The box plate sits a bit crooked on the flap, and while 100% original, may be a replacement by a previous owner.
