Original era manufacture. Civil War era sword manufactured by C. Roby of W.Chelmsford Mass in 1865, inspected by AG on the blade. The polished steel blade measures 34.75 inches in length, runs straight and true, very clean, just a few spots of light surface staining. Original leather bumper at the base of the blade, three branch brass guard with a rack number of 98 below the pommel. Original leather wrapped grips with only a few strands of the twisted brass wire binding remaining. Clean steel scabbard with one shallow dent, the surface shows an old plated finish.
