Original era manufacture. Classic US Navy cutlass which as the story goes were still in the arms lockers of USN Destroyers during WWII..."Away Boarders!" Polished steel blade measuring 26 inches in length, Ames logo and 1862 date on the ricasso. Sheet brass cupped guard with brass pommel with a ridged wooden grip with traces of the leather covering remaining. The cutlass is in sound condition but shows honest age and use. It is without it's copper riveted, black leather scabbard, but those seem to be usually missing from these weapons.
